  1. You open with a joke. If you don't get a laugh, it's going to be an uphill battle getting them back. Open "real.".
  2. You ask the audience to stand up and "do things." The audience is there to be entertained and inspired by you, not vice versa.
  3. You lecture. People didn't like it when their parents did it -- they'll like it even less when you do it. Even though you are giving a speech… don't make it sound like one.
  4. You don't research the audience. Material that kills in laid-back California might offend people in more conservative states. Do your homework.
  5. You aren't getting standing ovations. Judy will change all of that.

  • Thirty minute consultation to set goals and schedule.
  • One (1) hour advance pre-screening of speech, manuscript or rough draft*
  • Four (4) hours of in-person or via the phone consultation, rehearsal, and punch-up
  • Three (3) hours of Judy rewriting your material including a "logic pass","comedy pass", and "final punchup"
  • Four (4) emails with writing assignments and review of material coming out of emails
* If you are just beginning and have not written any material, Judy will email you the Speaker Starter Kit to fill out. Then Judy will work with you for three one-hour sessions over the course of one month to get you started on developing your speech.

A three-month professional mentoring plan of working closely with Judy Carter to not only develop your speech, but to showcase and market it.


Includes:                 
  • Three months of Judy Carter focusing on your speech and assisting you with writing, producing, and marketing it.
  • Bi-monthly two-hour in-person consultations.
  • Weekly writing assignments and email writing reviews.
  • A "salon style" presentation of your final speech with videotaping and extensive feedback.
  • Creation and conceptualization of speech title, your one-sheet, and web presence
  • Assist in submitting materials to speaker bureaus for feedback
