This class is designed to give you stage time - and lots of it. Writing and Performing Class Combo If you sign up for the Writing course you'll want to do the Performance workshop too! Why not sign up for both classes at the same time and receive a discount? PURPOSE The Advanced Comedy Workout is a space for experienced standup comics to create, perform, and showcase new material in a supportive, creative environment and expand their comedy careers. Enrollment in the workout is by audition or invitation only. PERKS The workout will be run by Cary Odes. Each month there will be a guest teacher. Guest teachers will be Industry professionals such as casting directors, headlining comics, managers, agents and also, teachers from other comedy fields. Stretch your comedy muscles by participating in classes/talks that might include: Physical Comedy, Improv, Emceeing, Cruise Ship Entertaining, Auditioning, Booking Commercials, Cold Reading, Marketing, and Corporate Speaking Comics will get a 50% rate on having their own web page with streaming video on standupdemo.com SHOWCASING Students will have an opportunity to showcase every two months and will learn the ins-and-outs of producing showcases as well as doing longer sets. Students must not miss more than two classes per two-months cycle in order to showcase. Advanced students will also be asked to fill in at performance class showcases. DATE, TIME AND LOCATION
